What is a photoVoyage?
Used as one session of an ongoing programme of coaching or personal development - the 90 minute photoVoyage starts with a photo shoot in natural light and comfortable surroundings. I chat with my client in a relaxed way while I am shooting, then download the photos straight onto my computer. We look at them together selecting the most significant images – the ones that show different facets, and that help define who they are and where they want to go, one of which will say "Here I am - This is me"
What are the benefits?
- The photos provide an effective trigger for talking openly. Looking at yourself from the ‘third person perspective‘ makes it easier to be objective
- Seeing and talking about 25 different images gives you a rounded view of yourself
- The photos can be used to get feedback about how others see you
- You have a visual record that can be referred to at any time in the future
- For teams/workshops and development days, photoVoyage is an effective tool for getting honest feedback, because talking about a photo makes it feel less personal
The photographs captured a provocative range of expressions – some quite intense – others very subtle, that can be used as a unique and fascinating springboard for deeper discussion, therapeutic
purposes or coaching sessions… I had thought I knew what I looked like from snapshots, but these are different – so immediate, so direct. There is no artifice of any sort between me and the camera
